DEVELOP may have two phases, a behavioral monitoring with situational and motivational analyses followed by a national, or global, survey component. This blended design has many advantages compared to traditional A&U or home use studies.

The behavioral monitoring begins with 50-75 households who participate in an online community record their behavior through blog diaries and documentary films. This design typically yields 1,000 - 3,000 observations of usage events that are then statistically analyzed for patterns of behavior. With this service, we discover 15-30 archetypal situations of product and service use that are then translated into a survey. The results include incidence measures and success requirements for your marketing team.

The results of the situational analysis are translated into a survey format and presented to a nationally representative sample. We then drill-down into the products and services used for the most relevant situations in order to understand development requirements for success. The survey data is calibrated to the behavioral monitoring to ensure that unconscious and aspirational behavior is appropriately represented in our findings.
